- Long ago in the locality - Ballinea - people ate three meals in the day. These meals were their breakfast their dinner and their supper.
The men often worked for a long time in the morning before their breakfast.
Their breakfast consisted of oat meal bread and buttermilk. The buttermilk was drunk out of noggins. Their dinner consisted of boiled potatoes and a noggin of buttermilk. Their supper consisted of oaten bread and buttermilk and sometimes hot boiled potatoes were served again.
Very often tables were not used at all when the people were eating their meals.
When the men came in from work a creel of boiled potatoes was left on the middle of the floor.
The people sat on stools around this and they ate the potatoes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
