    on both sides of the road from the Diamond", Curry to Lickblea was being herded by English R.I.C. men and "Emergency" men. This land is now divided into small holdings - owned by the following Catholic families:-

    Paddy White - Ballnamee
    Reilly - Carrick, Finea, Co W. Meath
    Dermody - Carlanstown
    Fay - Castletown
    Hogan - Curry
    Smyth - Ballycamoyle
    Larger holdings on the left hand side of the Curry - Lickblea Road are held by these Protestant families - Wade and Sherward.
    The land - before the division was owned by the Nugent family who had a castle there. The ruins may still be seen.
