    Newstone is in the parish of Drumconrath
    in the Barony of Lower Slane.
    The townland has a population of about 80. Farrell is the most common family name.
    Three of the houses are thatched and the rest are slated.
    There are three or four people over seventy living in the district.They do not tell stories.
    Some of the land is hilly and the rest is level and fertile.
    There is one wood in the district which covers about half an acre.
