- There are no Holy Wells in Moynalty parish. There is one well in Ciaran, Carnaross, another at Shancor Kilmanamwood and one at Ardmagh. The well in Ciaran is called after St. Ciaran. Its patron day is held on the first Sunday in August. Several are said to be cured of Toothache. Some drink the water and more rub the part affected. The well at Shancor is called St. Patrick's Well. Its patron day is on the same day at St Ciaran's. The well is beside a large rock. St Patrick is supposed to have said Mass on this rock hundreds of years ago. There is a very nice alter erected near the rock. The Well at Ardamagh is called St. John's Well and its Patron day is on the 21st of June. Long ago(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
