  1. The name of my home - district is Fraine in the parish of Athboy in the barony of lune.
    There are twenty-four families in my district.
    There are about 95 people in it.
    There are 16 of the houses thatched and 8 slated.
    The townland got its name from the Fraocan berries which grow in the bog.
    There are four people over 70 years in my district and they can tell stories in English. The names are:-
    Mrs B. Gaffney, Fraine, - Athboy, Co. Meath.
    John Wren, Fraine, Athboy, Co. Meath.
    William Growney, Fraine, Athboy, Co. Meath.
    Michael Clarke, Fraine, Athboy, Co. Meath.
    Houses were more numerous in my district in olden times.
    There are five houses in ruins.
    People did not emigrate from here to The New World in olden times
    The land is very boggey.
    There is one river flowing through Fraine its name is "The New River"
