  1. There are five graveyards in the neighbourhood of Ennis namely Drumcliffe, Corovorin, Ennis Abbey, Clare Abbey and New Hall. In the parish of Drumcliffe there are three graveyards named Corovorin, Drumcliffe and Ennis Abbey. In the parish of Ballyea we have two graveyards namely Clare Abbey and New Hall. Ennis Abbey, Clare Abbey and New Hall are built on level ground. Drummcliffe and Corovorin graveyards are built on a slope. Drumcliffe graveyard is the biggest of the five. All the people visit New Hall graveyard because there is a lake near the ruins.
    If you go around the graveyard in Clare Abbey you will see a slab, and this little poem is on it.
    "Remember man as you pass by,
    As you are now so once was I,
    As I am now, so shall you be,
    Remember death and pray for me."
    There are many other interesting things in this old Abbey.
    There is a very old graveyard in Ennis Abbey. Long ago Ennis Abbey was a great school, and scholars from all parts of the country came there to be educated. In the time of Cromwell there was a passage under the ground, from Ennis Abbey
