    farmers used to kill their pigs for their own use. They would keep a big piece of bacon hanging up in the chimney for seven years for a cure and anyone that would come to them for a cut of green bacon for a lump on a man's neck or a boy's neck they would come miles away for that cure. They were called lumps in the old days but now they are called an abscess.
    A cure for warts is to go into a house and steal a pece of meat and rub it to the warts for six mornings and bury the meat then and according as the meat is rotting away the warts are fading away.
