  1. The Haunted Castle
    Once upon a time a rich man and his wife lived in a big castle. They had one little boy. One day the mother got sick and a few days later she died. Before she died she made her husband promise that he would be good to the child.
    After a few weeks he married again. The second wife was very cruel to the child and she made her husband dislike him too. One night the stepmother told one of the servants to put the child to bed. When the child was in bed he began to cry. The stepmother went up and locked the door. She was not long down the stairs when the door opened
