  1. A Legend
Near golden on the side of the road there is a large well. It is called Chadwick's Well. a legend is told about this well.
At one time it was at the other side of the road. How it came to be in the present spot is a strange story. It is stated that at one time a passing woman rinsed some clothes in it. some time later the well is said to pass unseen to the other side of the road.
A stone cross still remains in the spot where it was at first. During the Civil War in Ireland this cross is said to have been taken for some unknown purpose.
