In this district all the houses were thatched and there was half-doors on them all. In all the houses there was a clay floor. The fire-place was always up a corner of the wall, In all the old houses half-doors were common and the people did not burn anything except turf and sticks, They had a bed in the kitchen and they always went to be early and they always got up, early in the morning, The chimney was made of clay and mortar and sometimes bricks.
