    Those lofty hills and mountains threw off their gloomy veil,
    And fifes and drums were beating, those Martyrs to bewail.

    The gallant men Tipperary reared came on from every side
    To honour those three Irishmen and the cause for which they died.
    The maidens, too, loyal and true, in splendour they were seen
    In front and rear, and everywhere, marching round the green.

    The green old flag of Ireland maintain its ancient place,
    Proclaiming independence of Granua to release.
    'Tis on her plain we'll break her chains before we will give o'er,
    And fight again like Irishmen, as our Fathers did before.
