  1. Local Fairs
    There are numerous fairs held in a Rathkeale and Askeaton because they are the most convenient places, to hold markets for the inhabitants of this district. The fairs in Askeaton are not of great importance because a very small crowd attends and very few buyers and also a small quantity of cattle.
    Local buyers often buy on the way to the fair or on the way home, especially when trade is good. Fair used to be held in Stonehall
