  1. According to a story told by some of the old people of the locality, there is a certain amount of money hidden in my uncle's farm whose name is Patrick Kennedy of Cappagh Askeaton. Some people say that it was placed there for safety in times of danger, by a wealthy person, while others say that is is connected with the fairies.
    People from a neighbouring parish who must have got some tidings of the treasure, came there at one time to unearth it. After a considerable amount of digging, in the wrong part of the field according to local tradition they failed to find anything. There is a
