  1. Time of Year
    In Spring the potatoes are set. In our farm at home we turn an acre of bawn yearly. Then farmyard manure is taken to the field and a layer of it is put on the ridges.
    "Cutting Seed".
    The large potatoes are cut into two or perhaps three but each one must have an eye. The small potatoes are put down whole.
    Setting the Potatoes.
    The seed is put on the layer of manure and the side scraws are turned over. Then the clay is thrown up on the ridges and levelled out.
