  1. LOCAL HEROES 21- 6 -1938
There was man working in their locality long ago named Regan. One Summer’s night there was a competition for running. There were twenty men at Granard Cross. They were to start and finish at the Windmill Cross.
All the men except Regan who, wore no boots, had light footwear to protect their feet. Regan ran along the dyke and he had finished before the others were half way down the Windmill Hill.
