  1. There are many Irish customs to be observed in Ireland as regards marriages. Superstition forbids any person to get married during the months of March, May, and August and certain days of the week are considered unlucky Monday, Wednesday, and Friday "An ancient adage" says that the bride should have "something" old something new something borrowed and something blue".
    The match-making is begun by a friend of one of the parties. He introduces the match. Then the man sees whether the person is suitable as regards personality and finance.
    Then if all arrangements prove satisfactory the couple get married. Some people prefer to be married in the local church.
