  1. The local farmers are very well situated as regards the fair. There is a fair held at Mallow the first Tuesday in the month and there is a fair held at Coachford the second Tuesday in the month and there is a fair held at the Half-way house on the first Friday of the month and there is a fair held at New Tipperary every third Tuesday in the month. There is a special fair field for each fair. There are special fairs held at Mallow on the 30th of October, New Year's Day and the 5th of August. There is a horse show held in Dublin every year and crowds of people come from all parts of Ireland to see it.
    There is a special fair field for the fair in New Tipperary and the jobbers come there every third Tuesday in the month. There is a special fair for horses and a special fair held for sheep, cattle, and pigs. After every purchase a coin is returned to the buyer for "luck". The buyers come come round to the houses to buy pigs and the pigs are taken to the slaughter house in Cork or Limerick.
