  1. There is a holy well in the lands of Mr Crowley in the townland of Hornhill. Long ago a woman came to the well for water to boil potatoes for the dinner; and when she went home she put the water on the fire: and if she were there yet the water would not boil.
    Ever since then people pay rounds to it at certain times of the year. The well is situated about three hundred yards in off the road. It is in a three acre field and at its back is a wild bit of land containing about half an acre.
    The well is round and about six feet high and a wall built out from it and about three feet long and it is covered in the top with stones
