    by the British sailors after the battle of Trafalgar. During the Civil war it was knocked and afterwards rebuilt. The men who built it say that they found a penny of the year 1814 and they put with it a penny of the year 1914.

    The re-construction took place in 1914 under the direction of Colonel Somerville, Drishane House who asked for volunteers to reconstruct the monument thrown down.
    * It was not during the Civil war but during the Anglo-Irish war that the original arch was thrown down.
