“There are a few fields about Ruskey belonging to Mr Reynolds.”
There are a few fields about Ruskey belonging to Mr. Reynolds. One of them is called the Infirmary and the other is called the Fork Meadow.
It is called the Infirmary because when the cattle around the place used to get sick they were put into the field so that they might get better by eating the good grass and breathing in the air from the Shannon.
The Fork Meadow is so called because it is the shape of a fork.
There is a field in Clonfad called the fox field because one morning the field was covered with dead foxes.
There is also another field in Clonfad called the Darby field because a man the name of Darby Cox lived beside it.(continues on next page)- Collector
