  1. There is a fairy fort in my district. It is called a fort, not a lios or rath. This fort is in the townland of Kilfree and is circular in shape.
    A big stone wall and a hedge surround the fort. There is a big hole by which you can enter, somewhat the same shape as a door.
    One day the owner of the land went in to dig for gold and he fell down. He rose again and walked towards the entrance to leave the fort, but he fell a second time. On reaching the home he became ill and had to be put to bed. Some time later he became unconscious; he never recovered consciousness.
    People think it was the Danes who built this fort. There is a stone in the wall and 1012 carved on it. That is why they think it was built by the Danes. It is supposed there are fairies living in it. One day a little boy who was walking beside it heard the sound
