  1. People of long ago used to wear long shirts with flounces on them. The old people wore bonnets. Some used to wear coats and others shawls, and also pins in their hats. They wore nets on their hair. People wore plaid aprons and dresses. Some wore boots with elastic in them. They used to have their hair long. There were no clips at that time or slides only hair pins. Very few old women used to wear shoes. They wore little white muslin caps with lace quilled around the face and two starched strings tied in a nice bow under the chin. They wore black wool wraps over their shoulders pinned in front with a corker pin and a check apron. They wore knitted stockings up to their knees and nailed boots. They wore high hats with narrow leaves. The bonnets were a kind of head dress worn back off the forehead. Two ribbons came from the bonnet down behind
