    dipped in melted resin. The resin was melted in a 'cam'. This was a little pan with a long handle. Sometimes a piece of cloth was dipped in the resin and used in the same way as the rushes.

  2. My grandfather grows potatoes on his farm. He grows about one acre of potatoes each year. Sometimes he plants a little more than one acre, sometimes less. My uncle prepares the ground. Before the ground is prepared the manure is put on the ground and spread. Then the ground is ploughed. It is ploughed about the month of March. In about a fortnight the ground is cross-ploughed. The ground is then harrowed sometimes two or three times to break down the lumps. Then the drills are opened with a drill plough. They are made about twenty six inches. A marker like
