  1. There was a very sad occurrence happened some years ago. A young man named Willie Mc Quaide and two brothers named Feeneys were drowned in a lake near Scotshouse while bathing on a Sunday afternoon. It seems one of the Feeneys was drowning when the brother jumped in to save him, he was sinking too when Willie Mc Quaide jumped in to rescue them and he also sank so the three were drowned. The other brother Mc Quaide san home first, for help, but it was too late when the people arrived.
    About three years ago there was an accident that happened in the late Mr. Agnew's quarry.
