  1. You all know the time that they used to be driving
    The cows and the pigs for the tithes I am sure
    When many the poor man had to see with sorrow
    His one little pig drove away from his door.
    O that was the time of ruination and sorrow

    To keep up the churches that they did not attend at
    And stuff the old Parsons with the height of good fare.
    Well faix sure the drivers came over to Ullard
    To look for their plunder one fine Summer's day
    And as there was no one at home but the women
    The men as it happened to be, were away
    Come, now is our time said one feeble old woman
    Come, now is our time she says for us to go
    And try if St Fiacrac will stand to his promise
    He made to the old people long, long ago.
    He said to them all at the time he was dying
    Come down to my well when I am under the sod
