  3. XML “The Vault of the O'Mahony's in Templenoe”

  1. To be seen at the south side of the ruins in the Templenoe Burial-ground is the Vault of the O'Mahony's of Dromore. Inscribed on a large flag on the top of the Vault is the coat of armour of this clan. There is also writhing in oamh which is now indistinct.
    The coat of arms are those of two lions with drawn swords a snake between them a boar and a dear. It is not known how long is it since anyone was interred in it.

    Further west of the above is the tomb of the O'Sullivan Mór of Cappanacuss. There is a large slab on top but it has no inscription on it

    The pier at Templenoe was built by a man named o'Donoghue. It was into this pier the grain ships came in with supplies to Mr Doran. The local farmers drew the
