- (continued from previous page)There is Mass offered for the soul of the dead body. The coffin is laid on two sticks which are for that purpose. Then the coffin is taken to the graveyard and placed in the grave prepared for it by some friends or other.
When it is placed in the grave some of the friends throw on the first sod on top of the coffin. When the clay is all on the coffin, the shovels are crossed in form of a cross and every one kneels down and say some prayers.- Collector
