  1. About eight years ago there was a big fish up near Smithbora.
    It lived in a big hole which was a quarry at one time and filled up with water. It was said that when the big fish would shake its tail that it would shake all the ground about it. But it happened one day when a man was out shooting he was going past the place. Suddenly this big fish appeared. The man was frightened but he fired and shot the big monster. It was as big as a horse and the shape of a fish.
