  1. Candle making was carried on in the homes of most people in former times for their own use. There was a mould, and the fats of cows, sheep, and goats were dissolved by the heating and pouring of water into the mould in a liquid state and then left to cool. A cotton cord was used for the weck.
    Basket making was carried on also in many places such as Glenageenty [Glanageenty ?] by Kerry Lyon's about 40 years ago. Spinning
