  1. 1. When the sun sets in a dull way in the west, it is a sign that rain is near, but if it sets red and bright it foretells that warm weather is at hand. When rain is arriving there is a ring to be seen around the moon, and the stars dance in the sky. When the stars shine out very brightly, it is a sign of frost. When the clouds hang dark+heavy it is a sure sign that rain is near.
    The South West wind brings us most rain. When the trees are ruffled and when the crows fly low, there is certain to be a storm when birds are seen flying
