  1. Coolera (Cuil-Irra) is now understood to mean the district included in the two parishes of Killaspugbrone and Kilmacowen, though formerly it embraced a much larger area. This district is fairly populous containing the villages of Strandhill, Culleenamore, and Breeogue and some fine residences of picturesquely such as Sea-field, Culleenamore, Glen Lodge Grange, Breeogue and Cloverhill. The principal places of interest are Carromore, Knocknarea, The Glen, the ruins of Kilmacowen and Killaspugbrone churches and the bathing place and Summer resort of Strandhill.
The most direct approach from the town of Sligo is by the Magheraboy road, which, when followed in the Sea-field direction for about two miles brings us to the scence of the Carrow-More Monuments.
