  1. There are many "fairy forts" in this district.
In Corranmore there is one, and it is said that a young girl was sick for about three weeks and she was supposed to have been taken away by fairies.
She was away for thirty years. While she was away a hard, wizened, little creature was left in her place. When she came home she said she was married to a Leprechaun. She would not tell them where she was or she would be brought away forever.
There is another "fairy fort" in Freevagh. There are trees growing around it and nobody would cut them because they would have no luck.
These forts are of a circular shape. It is said that fairies bring away good looking people.
