  1. It is said that leprechauns were very plentiful long ago and that many people have seen them. It is said that a man in the district of Glenfarne was out one night and he saw a leprechaun, making a pair of shoes.
    He was a very strong man so he caught the leprechaun and carried him home. He locked him in a chest. After three days the man told him if he would give him gold he would set him free. So the man let him and the leprechaun told him where the gold was, it was under a tree.
    The man dug under the tree and he got the gold.
