When he had her out he locked the door. The Parish Priest came the next day and saw the invalid outside. He left his hand on the door and it opened. He got some people to bring the invalid in. he then said to the Policemen and Landlord that were outside to arrest him but they did not. He was a Protestant but married a Catholic girl who was a servant in his house and hose maiden name was Catherine Golden. The children were brought up in their father's religion and came to school to Polredmond. They went down in the classroom to eat their lunch every day while the teachers and other children said the rosary. The mother got them baptized unknown to the father. When their father was dying the wife she had to send for the Minister of Dunmore and the Minister of Ballinlough. He left the children in their charge and they had to become Protestants or he would not leave them any money.
