    He noticed that the field was very marshy and he said to himself that he surely had the gold hidden there. He saluted the Leipreachán kindly, and also demanded the gold from him. He told him it was under a certain bunch of rushes, and to tie a string on them while he was going home for the spade to dig it up.
    Away the man went, delighted with himself, for the spade, but when he returned, all the rushes were tied with strings and he did not know where to dig then, and the Leipreachán had disappeared. It is said that if you caught the Leipreachán you should keep him in a box for a day and a year, until he would give you the gold.
