afraid. On Sunday night she got four men to go with her and when she went to the place where she was to meet the devil she whispered, "There he is now" but the men could not see anybody.
After a few minutes she began to scream. They all ran after her and tried to pull her but they were always tripping over something. They got her as far as an office house and as they were going in the door they all fell over a stick but they did not let her go. Her cloths were all torn.
The priest heard about it and he sent for the Bishop of Derry. He came and he had a large book with him. He prayed out of the book while walking from Donnell's Bray to Neiley's Harkin's Lane. Then he talked to Mary Harkin and he hit her a blow on the cheek. The devil was never seen since.
