  1. Long ago the people used to dig up forts. When there used to be wars the Irish people had no way of telling each other when the enemy was approaching but they used to light fires on the forts and in a few minutes all of Ireland knew the enemy was coming.
    Killeen's Fort.
    This fort is situated on the side of the County road. There are a few white thorn brushes growing around it. It is said that a headless man riding on a white horse disappears into the fort.
