  1. I live in a parish called Straid. It is a very small parish though very historical. The parish of Straid got its name from the street that was along the public road.
    In Straid we have the famous patriot Michael Davitt. His father was a small farmer. Owing to the heavy rents which they were unable to pay they were turned out of their home. After a while they went England and when Michael was twelve years he was working in a mill
