  1. Long ago the people used to make bread from oatmeal. They had no ovens or pans then so they used to bake their bread on the thongs or on the lid of a big pot. There was no flour then but the people used to make oatmeal cakes and bran cakes. Some of the old women had a big wooden bowl for making the bread they had a wooden spoon for mixing the dough. The old people never had to get a tooth out because the oatmeal was good for their teeth. The people used to boil potatoes and
