    and disolves it. This makes a solution with which he sprays the crop.
    In the Autumn the farmer digs the potatoes and picks each seed for themselves and puts them in a pit in the ground and he covers them with straw and clay so as to keep them from the frost, rain and snow. Starch and alcohol are made from potatoes. During the spring time the people go about helping each other. There are no wooden ploughs made at the present time they are all patent ploughs. There are two kinds of spades a garden spade and a Smith's spade. The Smiths spade is made locally and the garden spade is made at Hinchaws in Galway.
