  1. A barrel churn is the kind of a churn we have, it is four feet high and two feet wide, and it is about ten years old.
We make a churn twice a week in Summer and once a week in Winter. My Mother who makes it. My Mother puts hot water into the churn when she is making it in order to make it quickly, and when it is made she rinses it with cold water in order to gather all the butter in a roll, together. If a person enters a house while churning would be making they should leave their hand on the handle of the churn or it they didn't it is said that they would bring bad luck, and the cows would loose the milk.
