- Down in Boredail there is a crock of gold hidden in the river and there
is an eel and a greyhound minding it.
If you went to get the crock of gold
the eel and the greyhound would
kill the person. My grandmother saw the eel near the side of the river bank.
She was trying to catch it and it went away. - In years past there was an old man
who lived in a place called the old
mill. Here also was an old rath.
He claimed that the fairies or good
people used to play and dance around the rath in the early morning.
He swore it to be true.
