  1. There are many holy wells in the parish of Ballymore. Each one is dedicated to a different Saint.
    There is a holy well in Muchrath.
    It is called St Bridget's well.
    There was a very holy girl named
    Bridget who used to pray beside
    this well. One night it was very
    and she had a lighted candle in
    her hand. She dropped the candle
    and when she stooped to pick it
    up she fell into the well and
    ever since it is called St. Bridget's.
