The Potato Crop
We have no land of our own. Every year we sow out our potatoes on another person's land. We generally sow one row of potatoes, which consists of five drills.
The person with whom we sow our potatoes does not charge us anything, because the manure which we draw ourselves is good for his land and makes it rich.
A man with a horse and plough opens the drills. The width of each drill is about two and a half feet.
