It is done by hand. The churn is turned in a rolling motion. The way the people know when the butter is done, because they see the butter seperating from the butter-milk. The butter is lifted out with a wooden dish, and put into a wooden tub, and washed with water, and salt is mixed through it. The butter-milk is used for making bread.
