    about this particular graveyard a big bush grew in the gap and no one ever sowed it. There are trees and bushes growing in all the graveyards. People sowed them to know where their burial plot is.
    Beechabbey is another old graveyard between the parish of Drumlion and Aughrim but it is now neglected. There was an abbey there once and monks were buried there.

  2. The local fairs are held in Croghan, Carrick and Elphin. Carrick fair was held about a quarter of a mile from the town on the Roscommon side on a field known as the green. Elphin fair was held at Lisadoran hill three miles from the town it was called the Ardsolagh fair which means the deep dirt. Croghan fair was held on a hill near the village. It was the largest bull fair in the west of Ireland for selling and buying bulls.
    The fairs are all held nowadays on the streets in the town. Toll is called custom. It is paid on
