But my wise Creator soon stopped my career,
With a nod of affliction when no friend was near.
In scarlet fever so ill I did lie
That my comrades would say that young Dixon would die
Kind Providence favoured and did me restore
And now I am bound for the East Indian Shore,
Hope cheers my spirits whilst ploughing the main
That I'll live to see sweet Corragarry again.
