in west Clare. On one particular Sunday St Senan's father asked him to remain at home from Mass to mind the wheat from the crows and when St Senan got his father gone to Mass he followed after. When the father saw him at Mass he was greatly astonished when he did not do his bidding. He asked him why he did not remain at home to mind the wheat and St. Senan replied "I have all the crows in the barn father", and to prove that they were there he took his father to the barn and said "father I am letting them out now." The father got excited and went to strike the crows but St. Senan said to him "do not strike them father or you will become blind."
