Long ago a mason was mending slates, on the top of a priests house in Nenagh.
The priests happened to come out of his house, and he looked up at the mason who was shivering with the cold. He called him down brought him into his house and gave him a glass of whiskey. When he was pouring out the whiskey into a glass he said: "John, do you know that every glass of this you take you are putting a nail in your own coffin." John looked up slyly at him and answered, "Begorra Father, when you are doing the job at all you had better nail me down altogether."
