- Our churn is a round wooden vessel bound together by iron hoops. It is about two and a half feet high.
It is worked by hand by dashing the dash up and down.
When neighbours come in they start churning so that the churner may get rest.
When churning a while boiling water is poured into the churn. When it is churned the butter is taken off with a strainer and is placed in the butter-tub where it is washed and the milk and water pressed out of it.
Then it is salted and left in a cool place. It is used for many things. People eat it(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
